Living & Working Here

The Child & Family Research Institute is located at 950 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC and is a 10 minute drive from downtown Vancouver and a 30 minute drive from the University of British Columbia. The campus is home to three leading health care organizations: BC Children's Hospital, BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children.

Incorporated in 1995, CFRI currently has a population of nearly 1,000 which includes trainees, faculty members, research staff and administrators. As a training site, it offers basic science and clinical research mentorship that is second to none. Our researchers rank among the country’s best and continue to make internationally recognized contributions to their fields. For more information on the opportunities and services offered to CFRI trainees refer to the CFRI Trainee Handbook.

Working Here

It can take time to find your way in a new environment. For trainees new to the campus a Trainee Orientation is held each fall and spring to help answer any questions on CFRI or the hospital campus.  Upcoming dates and times are available on the Event Calendar.

Living Here?

Thinking of relocating to Vancouver for a position at the institute? Vancouver is the largest city in Western Canada with an area population of just under 3 million.
